A Demag ZKKW double-girder overhead crane, equipped with an MPW type winch and a DMR wire rope hoist as an auxiliary hoist, offers Köppern a combination of reliable mechanics and precise technology. The Danish company Amagerforbrænding specialises in waste-to-energy conversion to generate electricity and district heating. Around 500,000 people live in the catchment area around the southern part of the capital, Copenhagen. In addition to recycling centres, Amagerforbrænding operates a waste-to-energy plant. The crane systems at the plant, which was built in 1970, were fully automated in 2007.
