Demag at LogiMAT 2026: PUR wheel

Demag presents new PUR wheel system:

10% higher load capacity
30% more speed

Wetter, 24 March 2026 – With the new LWS 450 F+ PUR wheel system, Demag is expanding its tried-and-tested LRS wheel system with a particularly high-performance variant. Thanks to optimized material composition and geometry, the new PUR wheel enables a performance increase of 10 percent more load capacity and a 30% higher speed compared to existing LRS wheels.

Robust, heavy-duty and designed for high speeds

The new wheel combines an extremely robust cast core with a newly developed polyurethane (PUR) drum. This not only ensures higher speeds, but also allows larger payloads to be absorbed. Extensive test series in the Demag test field confirm the increased performance and durability of the design. Guided on aluminum rails, the PUR impeller is also characterized by particularly quiet and rail-friendly running – an important advantage for dynamic material flows in industrial plants. In addition, the wheel is suitable for use on steel rails as well as on concrete floors.

Four sizes, two designs – up to 4.65 tonnes load capacity and 260 m/min speed

The PUR wheel is available in four sizes and two designs. Depending on the version, the load capacities range up to 4,650 kg, and the maximum achievable speed is 260 m/min.

Flexible mounting – suitable for a wide range of applications

The F+ design is available in two variants:

For sizes 200, 250 and 350, a highly robust nodular cast iron block housing with five precisely machined connection surfaces is available.
For size 450, a flange bearing is offered as an alternative for attachment to metal structures.

Both variants allow for quick installation and removal, without the need for special tools. A zinc flake coating provides additional surface protection.

Significantly higher process reliability thanks to stable PUR drum

While conventional Hydropur drum wheels can lose their load capacity by up to 50 percent after just two hours when stationary under load, the new PUR wheel from Demag remains fully load-bearing even after longer periods of service under high loads. This improves operational reliability, reduces planning-related restrictions and increases plant availability.
