Demag belt hoist DBH – Clean, precise and ideal for demanding production environments

Wetter (Ruhr), 24 March 2026 – With the new Demag DBH belt hoist, Demag is presenting its new hoist, which has been specially developed for hygiene-critical, but also for abrasive and demanding production environments. The completely lubrication-free system relies on a high-strength synthetic Dyneema® fiber belt and defines new standards in cleanliness, process reliability and durability.

High cleanliness and precise lifting processes

The Demag DBH belt hoist differs fundamentally from conventional wire rope or chain hoists in that it uses a belt made of cross-woven polyethylene fibre material. As a result, it works quietly, completely without lubricants and with extremely low vibration. The polygon-free lifting ensures that loads can be positioned very precisely, without hook movement or restless movements. At the same time, the fully encapsulated design prevents particles or liquids from escaping from the hoist. This makes the DBH the ideal solution for abrasive environments such as cement or powder handling as well as for hygiene-sensitive areas such as food, pharmaceutical or cleanroom production.

Rugged design for demanding environments

The belt material made of Dyneema® is characterized by high load capacity, UV stability and abrasion resistance and enables the lifting and lowering of loads up to 6,300 kg at lifting heights of up to nine meters. The hygiene of the belt is guaranteed, as it can also be cleaned with high-pressure cleaning. Thanks to the IP55 protection class as standard and optionally available IP66, the DBH is just as suitable for dust-intensive as it is for damp or particularly sensitive production areas. Its proprietary mechanics prevent the harmful effects of fine-grained, abrasive substances on the engine, gearbox or electrical components and also on the supporting device, the belt. An advantage that significantly extends the service life of the hoist.

Convenient operation and modern control technology

The DBH offers very quiet and controlled lifting and lowering behavior, which increases both safety and precision in the process. The lifting speed can be infinitely regulated between 0.5 and 20 m/min either via pole-switchable motors in two stages or via a frequency converter. This makes the hoist suitable for both fast work cycles and particularly precise positioning tasks. In addition, the compact monitoring unit monitors all relevant operating data, thus ensuring greater transparency, greater safety and predictive maintenance planning.

Flexibility for a wide range of industries

Thanks to its robust, closed design and lubrication-free belt, the Demag DBH raises the hoist solution for both abrasive and hygiene-critical production environments to a new level. With a wide range of add-on options, lifting and transport solutions can be configured to measure. These include the stainless steel design of the hook, lower block, e-housing and wheels, the installation of two-stage travel limit switches and the installation of protective and fall arrest shields.

The DBH can be flexibly integrated into workstations, production lines or crane systems – stationary, with manual or electric chassis and in conjunction with systems from the Demag KBK light crane system. It thus covers a wide range of applications, from food production to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries to battery production, the automotive industry, cleanroom processes and demanding dust or powder handling.
