Built for environments that demand more.
Demag Belt Hoist DBH
Safe lifting techniques.
The Demag belt hoist is the ideal solution for production environments where cleanliness, safety and reliable processes are top priorities. Its fully enclosed drive system prevents the escape of particles and liquids. The DBH thus meets the high standards of sensitive industries – such as food production or cleanroom environments.
With the Demag belt hoist, Demag is expanding its extensive product portfolio.

Dyneema® webbing strap: Highly durable and safe
The difference between this and a rope or chain hoist is obvious: the belt hoist has a highly secure webbing strap. The highly durable fibre material is made from polyethylene. This thermoplastic material is woven into a cross-woven strap structure. This reinforced structure creates a tear- and cut-resistant belt that can safely lift loads from 125 kg to 6,300 kg.
The belt is deflected via polyamide belt deflection rollers.
Smooth lifting and lowering operations
Dyneema® webbing straps ensure smooth, balanced lifting and lowering operations with the Demag Belt Hoist. The structure of the base material polyethylene enables positive deflection, which prevents the polygon effect.
Less wear thanks to deformable material
The belts can stretch by up to 3.5 per cent. This value demonstrates the material's ability to expand. However, the ductility of the belt does not compromise the exact positioning of the load. One particular advantage is that the material shows less wear, as the ductility means that the belt is less affected by abrupt stops during lifting operations.
Lightweight, cut- and tear-resistant
The very lightweight material is tear- and abrasion-resistant and UV-stable. In addition, the polyethylene ensures less vibration during lifting operations, allowing goods to be positioned with precision.
Protection against unwanted substances
The Demag Belt Hoist is protected to IP55 as standard. Optionally, the components can be upgraded so that the belt hoist meets the requirements of protection class IP66.
The IP protection class is an international standard that uniformly describes the properties of an enclosure. The basis for this is the European DIN standard EN 60529. The protection class is always represented by two digits.
| Protection class IP55 | IP5x | There is complete protection against contact. In addition, there is extended protection against dust. However, a small amount of dust can penetrate without damaging the hoist. |
| IP55 | Protection against water jets from any direction is provided. The device can withstand heavy rain, for example. | |
| Protection class IP66 | IP6x | There is complete protection against contact. The housing protects against contact with dangerous parts and is completely sealed against the ingress of dust. |
| IP66 | There is strong protection against water jets. The housing is protected against strong water jets from all directions, for example during heavy rain or a direct water jet. |

Product information
Encapsulated lifting technology.
The Demag Belt Hoist has mechanical options that encapsulate the hoist, thereby protecting the environment from substances or liquids – such as lubricating oil – leaking from the hoist.
A clean material
Although the Dyneema® textile belt straps absorb substances, they can be easily cleaned using standard washing procedures. Thanks to the splash guard on the housing (see IP protection class), the other components of the hoist are also not damaged during cleaning.
The belt straps therefore also ensure hygiene in the food industry, for example.
Protection against abrasive substances.
The Demag Belt Hoist is resistant to dust and abrasive substances. In certain concentrations, these fine-grained materials can be harmful to the mechanical and electrical components of unprotected hoists. Increased wear therefore results in increased servicing and maintenance requirements.
Thanks to the enclosed housing of the Demag Belt Hoist, the components of the hoist are protected against abrasive substances and materials. This reduces the service requirements for the Belt Hoist.
The Dyneema® belt straps are highly corrosion-resistant due to their thermoplastic composition and are therefore resistant to many acids, bases, oils and greases. In addition, polyethylene is an electrical insulator and therefore ideally suited for use in hoists.
Mechanical and Electrical Components

The belt drum is made of painted steel. A stainless steel belt drum is available as an option. For the lifting speed of the belt hoist, you can choose between a pole-changing lifting motor for 2-stage lifting or a lifting motor with converter for infinitely variable lifting. With lifting speeds between 0.5 and 20 m/min, precise positioning and fast lifting are no problem in everyday work. The lifting motor has a closed brake design to prevent unwanted leakage of fluids. In addition, the motor is maintenance-free. The gearbox is lubricated for life to reduce servicing requirements. The gearbox has a 4-stage limit switch as standard. The nickel-plated zinc hook block is unpainted and therefore designed for use in sensitive environments such as clean rooms.
| Control via a converter for infinitely variable lifting speeds is available as an option for the lifting motor. The crane trolley can also be equipped with a converter for infinitely variable trolley speeds. The Demag Belt Hoist is equipped with an electronic overload device, which is monitored by the compact OWL monitoring unit for overload cut-off and status display.
