Handling Solutions for Linear Motion in Primary Metals
Linear and vertical motion with Demag Drives Technology easily integrate into your project. Transfer cars, or shuttles, support the production process making it safer and more effective. This one carrying aluminum bar from storage to furnace. The car travels on DRS wheel blocks, transporting loads up to 13 tons. Precision is key for the crane placing bar onto the car by the crane so Demag Gear Motors add the precision needed.
Efficient Travel Solutions for Furnace Cars
Cars used in industrial furnace applications need to safely withstand the aggressive ambient environment while delivering precise positioning. Environments within foundries have high temperatures, with this application operating in an area with 70 degree C temperature with steam, soot, and dirt. The double carriage is equipped with 4 Demag DRS wheel blocks. Geared motors allow the upper and lower carriages to travel. This application required a high transmission ratio due to dispensing needs and a stopping accuracy of plus or minus 3mm.
