Building signs and outdoor advertising

Outdoor advertising is an important part of a company's identity and supports its brand image. It conveys a first impression and is perceived by a wide public.

You should carry out the initial development in close co-operation with Demag Global Marketing Wetter. This is the only way to ensure that the Corporate Design is consistently implemented.

Outdoor advertising installations are image carriers and designed for a long service life, which is why it is important to ensure high-quality design and execution. Regular inspection, care, cleaning and maintenance are a must.

Official approval

All outdoor advertising installations must not only be coordinated and approved internally, but also with the local authorities responsible. For reasons of time and cost, it is advisable to obtain this approval with the layout.

Example of official approval in Germany

In Germany, advertising installations up to 0.8 m² in size are subject to the notification requirement, and larger areas are subject to approval by the local building authorities. In Germany, the Road Traffic Authority is responsible for the assessment under road traffic law.

Logos with long-distance effect - Company and hall signs

Company signs mounted outside at exclusively Demag locations and sales offices should ONLY contain the Demag logo.

Ensure that the logo is harmonious with its surroundings and stands alone by using adequate space around it in which no other design elements may be located. The ratio of logo to this space must be determined in accordance with the ratios indicated in the "Logo" section.

For outdoor signs, it is important that high-quality, weather-resistant pure white material (e.g. powder-coated sheet steel) is used as base. Foil strips must always be used for foil lettering.

In addition to at least one "large logo" with a corresponding long-distance effect, attention must also be paid to a consistent design for signposts, hall signs, etc. We differentiate between formal signs, such as signposts and information for the workshop team, and hall signs with a prominent image, which indicate from a distance to a customer visiting the plant which product is being built in which hall. In order to maintain a certain internationality, we recommend that files are always created in two languages.
