Demag DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist: load capacity up to 100 t

  • Complete open crab design ready to install
  • Hook path up to 54 m
  • Classification up to FEM 4m

Terex Material Handling has increased the load capacity range of its DR rope hoist range to 100 t with its Demag DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist. The new double hoist unit design consists of two rope hoists which are installed on an open crab frame that is ready for operation. Based on the DR-Pro 20 rope hoist range, the DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist is supplied to meet customer requirements with reeving arrangements up to 16/2 and hook paths up to 54 m. The DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist is also a leader in terms of efficiency and availability, with classification in groups up to FEM 4m/ISO M7 depending on the type.

DR-Pro 20 rope hoist: load capacity doubled
Until now, the proven DR-Pro rope hoist has managed loads weighing up to 50 t, while Demag DH rope hoists have been used for higher load capacities. The Demag DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist now available doubles the load capacity of the DR range to 100 t. Two DR-Pro 20 rope hoists are arranged opposite each other on a frame to form a lifting unit which can be supplied as a double-rail crab that is ready for operation. Thanks to its open crab frame concept, the Demag DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist features compact dimensions and a modular design for ease of service. The crab is offered in three track gauges from 2,240 to 3,550 mm as standard.

Efficient operation – high lifting speeds
Safety and efficiency also play an important role in the DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist. As for the DR range, the double hoist unit achieves high lifting speeds and offers long hook paths. Depending on reeving arrangements from 6/2 to 16/2, lifting speeds of up to 10.7 m/min can be achieved with optional pole-changing or frequency inverter-fed hoist motors. With a reeving arrangement of 2x3/1, the double hoist unit provides hook paths of up to 54 m. Terex Material Handling places great emphasis on factors such as availability and long service life. Thanks to its generously dimensioned sub-assemblies, the DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist can be classified in high groups according to FEM/ISO. For example: in its 25 t variant with 2x 4/1 reeving, the double hoist unit is classified in group of mechanisms FEM 4m/ISO M7.

The TwinHoist crab controls are based on the proven Demag processor control system. All safety and monitoring functions are already active with this variant and the double hoist unit meets the requirements of safety category 3. Additional functions required by the customer can be rapidly implemented and adapted to the given application.

Tailored to meet non-standard requirements
Thanks to its modular design, the DR-Pro 20 TwinHoist is very easy to service. The top block is pre-assembled and already installed in the crab frame as a separate sub-assembly. The load measuring pin is integrated into a return sheave and supplies the signal for overload protection. The crab is tailored to meet specific requirements and supplied as a solution ready for operation. The crab platform that is installed for maintenance purposes can be specified according to customer needs.
