Tapered diaphragm joints – the secret for improved efficiency
The tapered diaphragm joints also replace the solid box-section design of conventional cranes – on average, the V-type crane is 17% lighter than comparable cranes that have box-section girders. This not only reduces the forces transmitted to the existing support superstructure and provides architects with greater freedom when planning new building layouts, but also improves the relative deadweight-to-load-capacity ratio.
Less wear – longer service life
Stiffeners arranged precisely at the tapered diaphragm joints give the revolutionary profile design greater rigidity – the V-type girder offers outstanding strength despite its light weight. The load-optimised design is also kind on all components used in the crane system. The result of the low-wear design: the V-type girder will easily manage more than 500,000 changes of loads, which corresponds to more than double the service life of conventional box-section girders.
Less material – improved safety
Compared with box-section girders, the girder design allows up to 30% more light to pass, making workplaces brighter, more attractive and, above all, safer. In addition, V-type girder surface area that is exposed to the wind is reduced by up to 55%, which also makes the crane ideal ideally suited for applications outdoors.
The V-type crane is not only highly efficient, but is also an extremely cost-effective solution in terms of investment outlay and its operating costs for indoor and outdoor operation.
Five model variants – countless applications
Regardless of the model type that you choose – the V-type girder can be easily adapted to any building shape and is the ideal solution both for existing buildings as well as for new construction projects.
The ends of the standard crane girder slope at an angle of 45°. The bottom edge of the crane girder is at the same level as the crane runway. The entire system offers sufficient space for pipes, for example.
On the compact version, the bottom edge of the V-type crane is significantly lower than the crane runway. This variant is particularly suitable for situations that offer little space.
This type is recommended for arrangements where there is a generous amount of space. The lower edge of the slightly raised crane girder is located higher than the crane runway, which offers a gain in lifting height.
The crane girder is significantly raised. Its lower edge is located above the crane runway, which provides for a large range of lifting heights. May modifications can be incorporated if there is sufficient space.
This variant is practically a combination of types 1 and 2. It can be ideally adapted to suit the available space, since the dimensions above and below the crane rail can be freely selected. The bottom edge of the crane girder is below the level of the crane runway.
Reduced maintenance requirement – improved working clearance
Compared to conventional trailing cable systems, our state-of-the-art energy chain provides improved working clearance below the crane. This not only enables the available space to be used more effectively – there are also no more cable loops that might impair operation. At the same time, the system eliminates the need for many of the usual components that often result in more maintenance and higher susceptibility to repairs.
The energy chain on our V-type crane is designed for a long service life under demanding operating conditions. It protects the power and control cables from mechanical wear and minimises the risk of other damage. Every energy chain is, of course, perfectly matched to the given V-type crane variant and tailored to meet the specific requirements of indoor and outdoor applications as well as any payload movements.

Bolted connections: less wear, less maintenance
Absolutely parallel alignment of the machined connecting surfaces forms the basis for secure connections with high-tensile bolts. The machined and bolted connections and matching contact surfaces provide optimum alignment of the components, minimising the rapid wear of travel wheels, the crane runway and the rails.
The bolted connections used on our V-type crane result in gentler loads on the entire crane system, including the crane runway. Consequently, maintenance costs and requirements are reduced to a minimum. In addition, the bolted connection has a positive effect on the crane travel characteristics. The hoist unit travels along the rai quietly and smoothly, ensuring optimum travel characteristics at all times.
