Tailored design as standard
The Handling Technology/Drives Business Unit supplies products for ergonomic handling in a wide variety of industry, trade and service sectors. They feature high versatility, for example for lifting and positioning loads at the workplace, as well as for serving machinery, installations and racking. Products ranging from electric chain hoists to Manulift units, balancers and Speed-Hoist units are available to meet customer needs in a wide variety of applications. In addition, Demag offers load carrier modules from the Demag KBK crane construction kit, made of either steel or aluminium, which can be combined with various load lifting modules.

The Drives group offers series-manufactured components that provide motions in a wide variety of applications such as travelling, turning, lifting, transferring and positioning, etc. A components system for tailored solutions that were already designed for varied applications as standard units can be used for gentle to dynamic acceleration and braking as well as for infinitely variable travel and lifting motions.
Virtually any customer requirement can be satisfied quickly and cost-effectively by using components that are designed and manufactured for perfect integration with each other. The product range includes complete systems ranging from wheels and geared motors to frequency inverters and power supply systems. All products feature high safety and reliability.
A further feature of the Drives product range is an extensive modular design system for carrying, driving, guiding and moving applications. This includes outstanding travel motors for one or two speeds, our conical-rotor brake motors for the most demanding requirements in stopping and starting applications and our cylindrical-rotor brake motors for standard applications.
All motors can be ideally operated using the Dedrive Compact and Dedrive Pro frequency-inverter ranges. Various electronic tools are available to assist in design and drive specification, such as DriveDesigner online or CalDrive, the calculation program with a user-friendly interface.
